2 Tblspn Peanuts(Palli)
2 Tblspn Roasted Chana Dal(Putnala Pappu)
3/4 Cup Jaggery(Bellam), grated
1/4 Cup Water
1 Tspn Ghee/Clarified Butter
Directions
- Heat a pan & dry roast the sesame seeds on a low flame by stirring continuously for 3-5 minutes or until they turn light golden brown. Transfer them to a plate & keep aside.
- In the same pan dry roast peanuts on a medium-low flame by stirring continuously for 3-5 minutes. Transfer them to a plate & let it cool at room temperature. Remove the skin & keep aside.
- In a mixing bowl add roasted sesame seeds, peanuts, roasted chana dal & combine well.
- In a wide pan add water, jaggery & boil till it reaches one string consistency on a low flame by stirring occasionally.
- Turn off the flame & add sesame peanut mixture. Mix everything well with a spatula & once the mixture is warm enough to handle (if the mixture completely cools down you cannot make laddus out of it) apply ghee on your palms.
- Take a small amount of mixture in your hand & make a round shaped laddu (yields 12-15 laddus). Serve.
- Store it in an airtight container & stays fresh for 20 days at room temperature.
- Stays fresh for 2-3 months when refrigerated.
