Cracked Wheat Halwa/Godhuma Rava Halwa

Ingredients

1 Cup Cracked Wheat/Godhuma Rava
3 Cups Water
1 Cup Sugar
1/8 Tspn Green Cardamom Powder
2 Tblspn Cashew Nuts, broken
2 Tblspn Raisins
4 Tblspn Ghee/Clarified Butter

Directions
  • Heat 3 tablespoon ghee in a sauce pan on a medium-low flame & add cracked wheat. Roast them for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown colour by stirring continuously.
  • Now add water by stirring continuously so that lumps are not formed & cover with a lid.
  • Cook for another 10-15 minutes by stirring in between & add sugar. 
  • Mix & cook for 2-4 minutes or until sugar dissolves completely. 
  • Finally add cardamom powder & mix everything well. 
  • Turn off the flame & transfer to a bowl.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon ghee in another pan on a medium-low flame; add cashewnuts, raisins & saute for 1-2 minutes or untill lightly browned. Turn off the flame & add to cracked wheat halwa by reserving few for garnish. 
  • Mix everything well & serve warm.
