Rava Polelu (Sweet)

Ingredients

1/2 Cup Bombay Rava/Sooji
1/4 Cup Sugar
1/8 Tspn Green Ellachi Powder
3 Tblspn Milk
Oil for Deep Fry

Directions
  • In a mixing bowl; add all the ingredients except oil & mix everything well. Mixture should not be too loose as it cannot bind well (if its too loose just add little more bombay rava).
  • Heat oil in a sauce pan/kadai on a medium flame & once oil is hot enough, take 1 tablespoon of mixture in your left palm & flatten it with your right hand fingers as shown in the picture below. 
  • Immediately drop it in oil & repeat the same process with remaining mixture.
  • Fry them in small batches for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown & keep turning the rava polelu with a strainer ladle while frying otherwise they get discoloured.  
  • Transfer them to a plate lined with paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • Serve rava polelu.
