Mini Cake Donuts

Ingredients

2 Cups All Purpose Flour
1/2 Cup Milk
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/4 Tspn Cinnamon Powder
2 Tblspn Melted Butter, unsalted
1 Tspn Salt
1 Tblspn Baking Powder or 1 Tspn Baking Soda
1 Egg
Oil for Deep Fry

For Chocolate Glazed Donuts 

15 Hershey's Kisses
3/4 Tblspn Cornflour
1/2 Cup Milk
1/4 Cup Sugar or add as needed

Directions
  • In a bowl, add all the ingredients except oil & mix everything well to form a smooth dough (if it is sticky add more flour to it).
  • Using a rolling pin, roll the dough into a circular shape with 3/4-inch thickness on a floured surface & cut with a donut cutter or use two round steel cutters of different sizes as shown in the pictures below. Repeat the process till the dough is completed. 
  • Heat oil in a sauce pan/kadai on a medium flame & once oil is hot enough, carefully drop donuts in oil.
  • Fry them in small batches for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown & keep turning the donuts with a strainer ladle while frying otherwise they get discoloured.
  • Transfer them to a plate lined with paper towel to remove excess oil.

For Chocolate Glazed Donuts
  • In a sauce pan add all the ingredients listed & place it on a low flame. Keep stirring continuously until it reaches silky & smooth consistency. Turn off the flame & keep aside.
  • Dip donuts in chocolate glaze & let rest to harden slightly.
  • Top it with M&M gems (optional).
  • Serve immediately.
Note: Store it in an airtight container & stays fresh for 1-2 days at normal room temperature. Stays fresh for a week when refrigerated.
