Directions
Directions
- Whisk egg in a mixing bowl & keep aside.
- In a mixing bowl add minced chicken, minced ginger, minced garlic, salt, crushed pepper, soya sauce, minced onion, half of whisked egg, cilantro leaves, green chilli paste & mix everything well. Keep aside.
- In a bowl; combine all purpose flour, salt, oil, half of remaining whisked egg, cornflour & water to make a smooth dough. Cover with a damp cloth & let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
- Place the dough on a well floured surface & make 12-14 equal size balls from the dough.
- Take one dough ball & flatten it using your palm.
- Using a rolling pin roll each dough into 3 to 4 inch diameter circle & keep aside.
- Place 2-3 teaspoons of chicken stuffing in the center.
- With your fingers apply little water along the edges of the dough circle & fold into half. Press the ends firmly so that filling does not come out during frying process. Bring the two edges together & seal them firmly as shown in the picture below.
- You can also bring all the edges together & seal it like a potli as shown in the picture below.
- Heat oil in a sauce pan/kadai on a medium flame & once oil is hot enough, add the wontons into the oil.
- Fry them in small batches for 4-5 minutes or until golden brown.
- Keep turning the chicken wontons with a strainer ladle while frying otherwise they get discoloured.
- Transfer them to a plate lined with paper towel to remove excess oil.
- Serve fried chicken wontons with sweet chilli sauce.
