Ingredients
2 Cups Thummi Kura Leaves/Leucas Aspera Leaves, tightly packed
12-14 Green Chillies
1/2 Cup Raw Tamarind, wash & cut into 2-3 pieces
Salt as needed
1/4 Tspn Cumin(Jeera) Seeds
1/4 Tspn Mustard(Avaalu) Seeds
6-8 Garlic Cloves, peeled
8-10 Dry Red Chillies
Few Curry Leaves
2 Tblspn Oil
Directions
- Wash thummi kura leaves under running water & drain.
- In sauce pan add washed thummi kura & cover with a lid. Place the sauce pan on low flame & cook for 8-10 minutes or until leaves turn soft. Turn off the flame & keep aside.
- Add raw tamarind, green chillies, salt to a blender jar & blend into a coarse paste. Keep aside.
- Heat oil in a wide sauce pan on medium-low flame; add cumin seeds, mustard seeds & let them splutter.
- Add garlic cloves, dry red chillies & saute for a minute or until golden brown.
- Add curry leaves & saute until they turn crisp.
- Add cooked thummi kura & mix everything well.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes & add prepared raw tamarind green chilli paste.
- Mix everything well & cover with a lid.
- Cook for 5 more minutes & turn off the flame.
