Ingredients

1/2 Cup White Rice
1/3 Cup Moong Dal(Pesara Pappu)
1/4 Cup Grated Carrot
1/8 Tspn Turmeric Powder(optional)
1 Tblspn Ghee/Butter
3 Cups Water
Salt to Taste


Directions
  • Dry roast moong dal in a pan or cooker until golden brown on medium-low flame. Turn off the flame & transfer to a bowl. Add white rice & wash under running water & drain.
  • Add 3 cups of water & soak for 20 minutes.
  • Heat ghee in a pressure cooker on a medium flame; add grated carrot & saute for a minute.
  • Add soaked white rice, moong dal along with water & mix. 
  • Now add turmeric powder, salt & close the lid. Pressure cook for 2-3 whistles.
  • Turn off the flame & let the pressure release naturally. Open the lid & mix everything well.
  • Serve warm.
