Ingredients

250 Grams Spine Gourd/Adavi Kakarkaya/Kantola
Salt to Taste
1 Tspn Red Chilli Powder
1/8 Tspn Turmeric Powder
1/2 Tspn Coriander(Dhania) Powder
1 Tblspn Cilantro(Kothmir) Leaves, chopped
2 Tblspn Oil

Directions
  • Wash spine gourd under running water, drain & slice them lengthwise. If the seeds are tough remove them & if they are tender, soft then no need to remove.
  • Heat oil in a wide pan on a low flame; add sliced bitter gourd & saute for 10-15 minutes by stirring occasionally. 
  • Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder & mix everything well. Saute for another 10-15 minutes or until light brown & crisp. 
  • Turn off the flame & finally garnish with cilantro leaves.
  • Serve as a side dish with rice & sambar.
