2 Tblspn Dry Coconut Powder or Dry Coconut Pieces (optional)

Directions
- Heat a pan on a low flame & add all the ingredients except roasted chana dal. Dry roast for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
- Turn off the flame & add roasted chana dal.
- Allow it to cool at room temperature & transfer to a mixie jar. Grind into a coarse or fine powder & transfer to a bowl.
- Serve putnala podi with hot rice & ghee or with idli or dosa.
Note: Store it in an airtight container & stays fresh for 3 months at normal room temperature.
