Chilli Chicken With Gravy

Ingredients

1/2 Kg Boneless Chicken, cut into small pieces
3-4 Spring Onions, chopped
1 Tblspn Gingergarlic Paste
1 1/2 Tspn Soya Sauce
1 Egg
1 Tblspn Maida/Refined Wheat Flour
2 Tspn Corn Starch
1 Tspn Red Chilli Powder
1/4 Tspn Turmeric Powder
Salt to Taste
1 Tspn Vinegar
1/2 Tspn Pepper Powder
1 Tspn Ketchup
1 Small sized Onion, cut into 8-10 cubes layers separated
14-16 Cubes of Yellow & Orange Bell Pepper(Capsicum)
2 Tspn Corn Starch, dissolved in a half cup of water
Oil for Frying
1 Tblspn Oil


 Directions
  1. Wash chicken pieces under running water. Keep aside to drain.
  2. In a bowl whisk egg; add chicken pieces, salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder, 1/2 tspn of soya sauce, cornstarch, gingergarlic paste, maida & combine well.
  3. Heat enough oil in a pan/kadai to deep fry the marinated chicken pieces. Once oil is hot enough fry the chicken pieces on a medium high flame in 4-5 batches instead of all at a once until golden brown for about 4-5 minutes. Keep turning chicken pieces with a strainer spoon while frying & transfer them to a plate lined with paper towel.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a separate pan; add bell peppers, onion, spring onions & saute for 2 minutes. Now add 1 tspn soy sauce, vinegar, ketchup, pepper powder, salt & saute for one minute.
  5. Add fried chicken pieces, cornstarch Water( dissolved in a half cup of water) & combine well. Stir for 2-3 minutes or until desired consistency of the gravy.
  6. Serve hot with chicken fried rice or tandoori roti.
