Dosakaya Mutton/Yellow Cucumber Mutton Curry

Ingredients

1/2 Kg Mutton bone-in, cut into medium sized pieces
1 Large Sized Dosakaya/Yellow Cucumber
1 Medium Sized Onion, finely chopped
1 Tblspn Red Chilli Powder
1/2 Tspn Turmeric Powder
Salt to Taste
1 Tblspn Gingergarlic Paste
3/4 Tspn Coriander(Dhania) Powder
2 Tblspn Cilantro(Kothmir) Leaves, chopped
2 Tblspn Mint(Pudina) Leaves, chopped
1 1/2 Cup Water or add as needed
2 Tblspn Oil

Directions
  • Wash mutton pieces under running water & keep aside to drain. 
  • Wash dosakaya/yellow cucumber, peel, remove the seeds & cut into 3/4 inch cubes. Keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker on a medium flame, add onion & saute until golden brown. Add gingergarlic paste & saute for a minute.
  • Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, coriander powder & saute for another minute.
  • Now add the washed mutton, cilantro leaves, mint leaves & combine well. Cook for 5-10 minutes or until oil separates.
  • Add chopped yellow cucumber & mix everything well. 
  • Cook for 1-2 minutes & add water. 
  • Close the cooker lid & pressure cook for 6-7 whistles or until mutton turns soft. Turn off the flame & let the pressure release naturally.
