Capsicum Rings/Green Bell Pepper Rings

Ingredients


1 Cup Gram Flour/Besan
1/4 Cup Rice Flour
3 Medium Sized Capsicums/Green Bell Pepper
3/4 Tspn Red Chilli Powder
1/4 Tspn Baking Soda
Salt to Taste
1/2 Tspn Coriander(Dhania) Powder
1/4 Tspn Cumin(Jeera) Powder
1/2 Tspn Gingergarlic Paste
Water as needed
Oil for Deep Fry

Directions
  • Wash capsicums under running water & drain. Cut into thick rings as shown in the picture below.
  • In a bowl combine all the ingredients (except oil & capsicum rings) to make a thick batter(not too thick or thin) without any lumps.
  • Heat oil in a sauce pan/kadai on a medium flame & once oil is hot enough, dip each capsicum ring into the batter & drop them in oil.
  • Fry them in small batches for 4-6 minutes or until golden brown & keep turning the capsicum rings with a strainer ladle while frying otherwise they get discoloured. 
  • Transfer them to a plate lined with paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • Serve with tamarind or green chutney.
