Apple Sauce

Yield: 1 Cup




Ingredients

4 Large Sized Apples; peeled, deseeded & chopped
1 1/4 Cup Water
1/3 Cup Sugar or add as needed
1/2 Tspn Cinnamon Powder
1/2 Tspn Salt
2 Tblspn Lemon Juice

Directions
  • In a sauce pan add all the ingredients, bring to a boil on a medium-high flame by stirring occasionally. 
  • Once it comes to a boil, turn flame to low. Cover with a lid & cook for 15-20 minutes or until mixture starts to thicken & apples turn soft. 
  • Turn off the flame & keep aside. Mash with a masher or blend into a smooth paste in blender in small batches.
  • Allow it to cool at room temperature & store it in an airtight container.
  • Enjoy this delicious apple sauce by itself or on oatmeal, pancakes, waffles, crepes, ice-creams, muffins & cheesecakes.
Note: Stays fresh for 2-3 weeks when refrigerated & 2 months when freezed.
