Onion Pakoda/Onion Fritters

Ingredients

2-3 Medium Sized Onions, thinly sliced
1 Cup Gram Flour (Besan)
1/4 Cup Rice Flour
3/4 Tspn Red Chilli Powder
1/2 Tspn Gingergarlic Paste
1/4 Tspn Cumin(Jeera) Powder
1/2 Tspn Coriander(Dhania) Powder
Salt to Taste
Oil for Deep Fry


Directions
  1. In a mixing bowl; add sliced onion, salt, chilli powder, gingergarlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder & mix well. Now add gram flour, rice flour & combine everything to form a thick batter (sprinkle little water only if needed). 
  2. Heat oil in a kadai/sauce pan on a medium flame for frying pakora, once the oil is hot enough drop small quantity of onion batter & fry them in small batches for 5-8 minutes or until golden brown & crisp. 
  3. Keep turning the pakoras with a strainer ladle while frying otherwise they get discoloured. 
  4. Transfer them to a plate lined with paper towel to remove excess oil.
  5. Serve warm with green chutney
