Tindora Masala Curry/Dondakaya Pulusu

Ingredients

250 Grams Tindora
1 Medium Sized Onion, chopped
1 1/2 Tspn Red Chilli Powder
Salt to Taste
1/8 Tspn Turmeric Powder
1 Tspn Gingergarlic Paste
1/2 Lemon Sized Tamarind or add as needed, extract pulp
1 Tspn Coriander(Dhania) Powder
1 Tspn Dry Coconut Powder
1 Tspn Sesame(Til/Nuvvulu) Powder
1/8 Tspn Fenugreek(Methi) Powder
1/4 Tspn Cumin(Jeera) Powder
1 Tblspn Peanuts/Groundnuts/Palli Powder
1/4 Tspn Garam Masala Powder
1 1/2 Cup Water or add as needed
2 Tblspn Cilantro(Kothmir) Leaves, chopped
2 Tblspn Oil

Directions
  1. Wash & make vertical slits to tindora. 
  2. Heat oil in a sauce pan on a medium flame, add onion & fry until they turn translucent. Now add gingergarlic paste & saute for one minute. 
  3. Add chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder, coconut powder, sesame powder, fenugreek powder, cumin powder, peanut powder, garam masala powder, coriander powder & saute for another minute.
  4. Add tindora & saute for 4-5 minutes on a medium-low flame. Add tamarind extract, water, cilantro leaves & cover with a lid. Cook for 15 minutes or until tindora turns soft on a medium flame.
  5. Turn off the flame & serve hot with rice or roti or tandoori roti.
